World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the possibility of upgrading equipment that they already own. This can be accomplished by any item upgrader NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item and add extras depending on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is among the most important factors that keep Link safe from harm in the majority of situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can enhance its defense capabilities in a variety of ways.
The basic idea of armour is to shield animals or people from harm or injury in the form of direct physical assault or from an array of environmental and activity hazards. Historically, the majority of armour was made of fabrics or leather, however metal protections were also used in military applications, particularly like heavy cavalry and combat drones.
Like weapons, there are a number of ways in which armor can be upgraded, but most will require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has a unique level of upgrades, with more granting greater levels of protection, and require a higher price in rupees and other materials to unlock.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever which means that once they've been installed, they can't be replaced unless you own another piece of equipment with the same upgrade. You should only apply most advanced upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials needed to complete the process.
For those who want to acquire the upgrade components needed, you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule, including shrines, shops, and even enemies. They'll usually be identified with a gold circle or a blue triangle symbol, and can be found in large numbers as you advance through the game. They may appear randomly however there is a chance that obtaining certain upgrades can trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It's also worth noting that even though the amount of protection offered by each upgrade is different but it's the same for all upgrades and will always be better than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that protects you from all kinds of attacks, except magic. This makes it a powerful weapon for all classes.

Weapons
If you're looking to make your guns truly unique, you can upgrade them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. They can increase the damage, change the weapon's stats so that they are suited to your specific build, and even unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, ammo types and more aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll need to have an upgrade component available and the item itself. The weapon must also be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons can only take one upgrade at one time.
Weapon upgrade components are available all over the world, from enemies or from merchants. Upgrade components are a mixture of ingredients that you are able to put into weapons, armors, trinkets and gathering tools in order to gain an attribute bonus. The equipment must be at a certain level before it can accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They are used to enhance the effectiveness of weapons and increase their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. They can be found among enemies who drop them in the open world, purchased from certain merchants or through drops during combat.
There are two NPCs that can upgrade your weapons: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs accept your Smithing Stones or Runes to upgrade your weapon.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then upgrade upgrade item that you won't replace soon. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your shoulders and chest, then your feet and hands. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, depending on the style you play, certain procs will be more useful than others. Armour is the same, with certain Reforges being better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one magic item. If an upgrade plan has been canceled, no further upgrades will be made for the item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but can have additional benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, but there are some that include armor, shields and cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls, and other items. Some of these items may be made sentient.
Many magic items can enhance their capabilities. This can make them more useful to players, or could help them conquer any difficult situation. A weapon that contains an ingredient that is unique could, for instance, provide an extra level of damage to a particular type of enemy. This is particularly useful for characters that have reached a point at which they will likely face the same kind of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring that is infused can grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not including silver-plated ones) until the next time the character is taking a long rest. This is particularly useful for combatants who are melee or anyone looking to stay clear of buying a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special powers which allow the character to cast spells that are not in their class list. This is helpful for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These magical objects require an Intelligence check (Arcana), and the spell is determined by rolling a table that is based on the number of Intelligence point expended.
Other items that can be enchanted may let the user change their appearance, or create a completely new appearance. These items are especially useful for characters that are forced to leave their home or in a location where they may not be accepted. A magical item may provide them with invisibility or make them invisible to everyone except the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that don't fall into the categories of Armor, Clothing or Weapons, and provide various capabilities. In contrast to weapons and armor they are not a single utility item that can conflict with another. Most utility items have an effect that a player can activate by using them, but some also have additional capabilities that activate when the user presses the button or activates the ability.
The most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Other items of utility include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow the player to be floating in the air while moving, and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several utility items can be instantly manufactured in the Engineering section while others can be unlocked through research projects or experimental projects at the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the normal inventory, players can also obtain some more useful items of utility by buying them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items are upgradeable to increase their effectiveness.
The majority of utility items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. For instance, sharpening stones crafted by the Weaponsmith increase Power and Ferocity as well as Maintenance Oils created by the Huntsman boost the power of concentration and healing. Other useful items like Writs and Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give players either a boost in damage or condition damage.
All XCOM soldiers can be equipped with a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot becomes available by acquiring certain types of armor or completing engineering, research or other projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This enables the player to utilize a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade remains in the primary slot.
